Why a Dog Photoshoot in Autumn is simply magic
For me, autumn is the most magical season of all. In Graubünden, the forests turn golden, the mountain air feels crisp and fresh, and the sun casts a warm light across the landscape. Walks with your dog during these weeks become something truly special – filled with little moments that touch the heart and linger in memory.
Magical Landscapes in Davos Klosters, Graubünden & the Engadin
Whether it’s a quiet forest path in Davos, mysterious fog drifting through Klosters, or the wide valleys of the Engadin: the autumn reveals its most beautiful side everywhere.
The Engadin is especially famous for its golden larches, which in October light up entire forests. This play of yellow and gold, combined with the crisp alpine air, makes the region unique and a dream location for dog photography.
I remember an October morning with my Rhodesian Ridgeback Naya. The fog lay low among the trees, everything was silent. Then, for just a moment, the sky opened, and a ray of sunlight broke through the forest. Naya stood still, lifting her head as if she felt the same magic I did. That picture still reminds me how extraordinary autumn days in the mountains can be.
Golden Memories
The low sun bathes Graubünden – and especially the Engadin – in a palette of gold, red, and yellow. It’s in these moments that photographs come alive: dogs gazing into the distance, jumping through rustling leaves, or simply soaking in the magic of nature.
For me, dog photography in autumn is so much more than a photo. It’s about creating memories that last: visible, tangible, and full of soul.
